Director of Student Development
Born and raised in California, Wendy received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with Minors in Theatre, Spanish Literature and Child Development from the University of California, San Diego. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on an afterschool project, La Clase Mágica, where she designed programs to promote elementary and middle school students’ literacy and cognitive development. Wendy has 13 years of experience working in the public and private sector in Education. Prior to joining The Wooden Floor, Wendy has pursued specialties in education policy, systems, curriculum development and bilingual/bicultural innovations through research internships with Mexico’s Secretary of Education, while studying abroad at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and was given the leadership role in creating the curriculum for university students interested in studying abroad at Palomar Community College and the International University of Cuernavaca. Wendy has a Master’s in Education, School Leadership at the University of Southern California, which has equipped her with the conceptual, organizational, political, and leadership skills needed to transform education so that all students receive an outstanding education.
